JCB introduce new site dumper line
Company adds comprehensive range of site dumpers to its compact equipment offering
JCB announced this week that they are to launch a comprehensive range of site dumpers in sizes ranging from 1 to 10 tonnes.
Based around four popular weight classes, compact 1-tonne and 2-tonne machines have been designed primarily for house building and landscaping contractors, while 3–3.5-tonne models will suit general construction and rental businesses. At the heavier end, both 6-tonne and 9–10-tonne dumpers will offer greater carrying capacity for larger earthmoving projects.
High-tip, forward-tip and swivel-skip models are being offered, catering for rental market and contracting requirements in a wide variety of applications. Engine outputs range from 20–120hp (15.5–90kW) and both synchro-shuttle and hydrostatic transmissions are available to deliver ease of use and maximum travel speeds.
Heavy-duty articulating and oscillating chassis frames provide maximum durability and strength, while the dumper skips are constructed using thick steel sidewalls and heavy-duty steel front and base plates, for increased reliability and longevity.
Folding ROPS protection ensures operator safety, while large axle oscillation angles provide excellent traction and stability on rough ground. The machines have been designed for ease of operation with a simple, clear dashboard and automotive-style controls.
The dumpers also feature best-in-class ground-level service access, with engine panels mounted on heavy-duty hinges. Swivel-tip models have a swing-locking device to ensure that the skip remains locked in position while travelling.
In addition, all 6–10-tonne models come, as standard, with high-performance oil-immersed disc brakes for maximum stopping power and reduced maintenance.
JCB’s chief innovation and growth officer, Tim Burnhope, said the addition of the site dumper product would add another dimension to the JCB product range.
The site dumpers, which will be available from UK JCB dealers from February 2015 and will be progressively rolled out to JCB dealers around the world, will be officially launched at next month’s Executive Hire Show, in Coventry.
In addition, it was recently announced that JCB Power Systems have signed a deal worth £4.5 million a year to supply Terex GB with the JCB Ecomax diesel engine, rated at 74hp (55kW), for use in their 6-tonne dumper models. Terex GB also use JCB transmissions and transfer boxes in their 6-, 9- and 10-tonne machines.
