Hills Waste Solutions expand operations in south-west England

Swindon-based Hills strengthen business activities with acquisition of Able Waste Management 

HILLS Waste Solutions have expanded their operations in Bristol and Bath with the acquisition of Avonmouth-based Able Waste Management Ltd. Set up in 2001, Able Waste are renowned for their waste recycling and disposal activities, as well as skip hire services. 

The business runs a fleet of 16 vehicles and employs 33 staff. Both Steve Hale and Martin Williams, co-founders of Able Waste Management, will remain with the company as depot manager and operations supervisor, respectively.

Gary Mckinnon, divisional director for Hills Waste Solutions, said: ‘This acquisition gives Hills a base in Bristol which has been identified as one of the top 20 growth areas in the country. 

‘It provides an excellent platform to expand waste collection services in line with Hills’ existing activities and opens up new opportunities to tender for business in the Bristol and Bath areas.’
