Hills Quarry Products scoop new loading shovel
New Komatsu WA475-10 wheel loader delivers improved fuel efficiency and safety at Cerney Wick Quarry
HILLS Quarry Products have continued to invest in their mobile plant fleet with the purchase of a new Komatsu WA475-10 loading shovel.
The new machine will operate at Cerney Wick Quarry where its advanced engineering will offer up to a 15% fuel-efficiency saving compared with previous models.
The loader is compatible with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) fuel and comes with a 360° high-definition camera system to give the operator full visibility around the machine at all times.
Jon Lisk, project manager – aggregates, said: ‘This new loading shovel has been procured with a full service and support package from Komatsu, which reduces lifetime running costs.
‘It will also be included in the Hills Quarry Products KalPRO TOMS tyre-management programme and Maple Program, both run by Kal Tire, which will help reduce our carbon emissions by retreading our mobile plant tyres rather than buying new.’
