Hewden bolster power generation rental fleet
National hire firm invests £2 million in quiet, clean, sustainable generators and ancillary equipment
NATIONAL equipment and crane hire firm Hewden have bolstered their power generation rental business with the addition of a range of new low-emission diesel generators and ancillaries in a deal worth £2 million.
The order includes 120 SDMO generators ranging from 20kVA to 200kVA, as well as mains distribution units, bunded fuel tanks, trailers and cables. Hewden say the move follows a series of new business wins in the industrial shutdown space and emphasizes their commitment to deliver sustainable, on-site equipment rental solutions.
Kevin Warne, senior product manager at Hewden, believes the latest line-up of generators represent the company’s most reliable and sustainable units yet.
‘Whether it’s in the construction, events, infrastructure or industrial sector, reliability is critical to our customers. They need the reassurance that the power solutions provided are up to the task,’ he said. ‘At the same time they are looking for the quietest, cleanest, most sustainable solutions available, and with this latest investment we’re now able to provide that.’
Hewden’s latest low-emission diesel generators include many safety features – including battery isolators, emergency stops, adjustable earth leakage, overcurrent, short-circuit protection, voltage regulation and internal sensors – to ensure a smooth and safe electrical supply for all equipment needs. They also incorporate Stage 3A engines, ensuring the highest levels of engine emission compliance in Europe.
Commenting on Hewden’s growth in the industrial space, Mr Warne said: ‘There are very few hire firms that have the resource and range of solutions to meet the demands of industrial shutdown projects. Across some of the biggest sites, we have cranes, plant, lighting, power and on-site personnel, which is great to see.’
