Getting more out of an RM crusher
Efficient pre-screening with Active Grid ensures higher crusher throughput and lower running costs
RUBBLE Master have launched the patented RM Active Grid, a new, highly efficient pre-screen that is said to increase material throughput by up to 30% and reduce wear.
Often, crusher feed will contain a high proportion of fine material that passes through the crushing process unnecessarily, increasing wear and energy consumption, while reducing throughput.
To remedy this, a bar grid or mesh is normally used for pre-screening, but if the fine material is damp and cohesive, it can quickly clog up the pre-screen and, therefore, will continue to pass through the crusher.
This fine material can cause unnecessary wear to the hammers, impact plates and wear plates in the crushing box, as well as higher energy consumption because the rotor is subjected to higher stress.
Available for the RM 100GO! and RM 120X crushers and featuring a special patented configuration of rigid and movable sections of bar, the new RM Active Grid is designed to solve these problems.
With no need for its own drive system, the vibration of the vibro-channel causes the Active Grid to oscillate, significantly increasing screening performance and, depending on the material and application, increasing total material throughput by up to 30%.
Efficiency is also increased thanks to the self-cleaning effect of the Active Grid, ensuring consistent screening performance. Thus, fine material is able to bypass the crushing box on to the main discharge belt, or can be discharged via side belt.
The end result is more material throughput, less wear, lower running costs and longer maintenance intervals, all of which add up to more productivity and profitability.
Moreover, in situations where pre-screening is not required, the RM Active Grid can be fitted with a quick-to-install subfloor.
