Gain competence with University of Derby Corporate
Industry professionals can cement knowledge and competence through work-based learning
Employees from the quarrying, asphalt and construction industry looking to develop competence and gain a formal qualification in their field can find out about the part-time professional courses on offer from the University of Derby Corporate (UDC) at Hillhead 2012.
Working in close collaboration with the Institute of Quarrying, Institute of Asphalt Technology, the Road Surface Treatment Association and The Concrete Society, courses have been developed in alignment with employer’s requirements.
Each course is designed to provide an opportunity for learners to build on their industry experience to gain a recognized and highly regarded academic qualification.
Paul Wilkinson, head of corporate partnerships for University of Derby Corporate, said: ‘Hillhead provides the perfect platform for us to demonstrate the range of academic courses we can offer to professionals wanting to develop their skills via the route of higher education.
‘Each course is carefully constructed to reflect industry best practice, increase knowledge and build competence that adds real value to the individual’s career; setting them apart from their peers.’
During the exhibition, information on the expanding portfolio of courses will be available including the well-established Diploma in Quarry/Asphalt Technology and the new University Certificate in Concrete Technology. Members of the academic delivery team will also be present to talk through the structure and content of the various courses.
UDC is currently accepting applications for new entrants onto its Diploma programmes in Quarrying, Asphalt or Road Surface Technology and the Certificate in Quarry or Asphalt Studies. Apply by the end of June 2012 and you could save up to £325.
University of Derby Corporate, which is based at the Enterprise Centre in Bridge Street, Derby city centre, also offers professional training courses in management and leadership development, business development consultancy, and support and facilities for start-up businesses.
