French mobile washing plant success for CDE
Washing plant specialist introduces AquaCycle water treatment technology to S.A. Andre Boureau
A NEW mobile CDE washing plant operating at S.A. Andre Boureau’s sand and gravel site at Lanty-sur-Aube, in France, is proving its green credentials by successfully producing commercial products while recycling 90% of the water used in the plant.
S.A. Andre Boureau wanted to introduce modern mobile washing technology at their new site in order to maximize productivity and have the flexibility to move the washing plant as and when necessary. The quarry operator’s long-term relationship with Lheureux et Cie, a partner of CDE in France, led to discussions about the best possible solution for their requirements.
As a result, CDE became directly involved with S.A. Andre Boureau on a technical and commercial level, which led to the successful installation of a bespoke plant specified to meet the exact needs of their French client.
Peter Brewitt, CDE business development manager for France, commented: ‘The process involved S.A. Andre Boureau working closely with our technical department to design a system suitable for processing their material. A detailed sieve analysis was carried out which enabled us to design a future-proof system specifically for the quarry at Lanty-sur-Aube. The level of interaction and shared knowledge involved in the project will benefit both companies long into the future.’
The CDE plant consists of a M2500 E4 mobile washing plant and AquaCycle A200 thickener, which is the first such system to be installed in France. The modular plant, which produces materials at up to 100 tonnes/h, processes 0–60mm alluvial limestone material into 0–4mm washed manufactured sand, and 4–8mm and 8–20mm washed grit. The 0–4mm sand product is produced with maximum retention of +75micron material and the efficient removal of –75 micron material.
According to CDE, the AquaCycle thickener reduces the area required for ponds on site and allows the recycling of more than 90% of the water used in the washing plant, which leads to a substantial reduction in the volume of water used for the system.
Jean-Charles Gillet, managing director of S.A. Andre Boureau, commented: ‘We are concerned with reducing costs, increasing efficiency and minimizing our environmental impact. The AquaCycle system guarantees that we can achieve all three of these goals while complying with environmental requirements.’
Another important issue for the company is the health and safety of its employees, and the CDE solution has been designed to minimize spillage which ensures a clean and safe site.
Jean-Jacques Boureau, president of S.A. Andre Boureau, said: ‘This is our first time using a mobile washing plant and the process with CDE has reassured us that we have made the right decision. Their technical expertise, with our input, has delivered a washing solution that fulfils our requirements. We have been very impressed with the level of detail explored by CDE to guarantee they delivered a system that was suitable for our needs.’
