Flexco introduce updated bolt solid plate washer design

Flexco's updated bolt solid plate washer design

Bolt solid plate fastening systems now offer optimal splice performance

FLEXCO have announced that the design of the washers on their #1, 140, and 190 bolt solid plate fastening systems has been updated to improve fastener-belt interaction and maximize splice performance.

The washer sizes on the #1, 140, and 190 bolt solid plate fasteners have been reduced to fit deeper into the cup during installation. This, say Flexco, results in improved splice performance, especially on thin, worn belts.

The Flexco fastening system provides a strong, sift-free splice with superior holding ability for use in tough material-handling applications. The system also allows for quick and easy on site installation with only a few tools.

The design and plate compression on both the top and bottom sides of the belt is key to the strength of the system. High tensile strength bolts compress top and bottom plates to distribute splice tension across the entire width of the fastener plate. Specially formed teeth penetrate deep into the belt carcass for added strength without damaging the carcass fibers.

Flexco bolt solid plate fastening system can also be used to repair conveyor belt holes and edge tears or combined with three-bolt rip-repair fasteners to fix jagged, length-wise belt tears.

Ideal for use in tough, abrasive applications (eg sand, gravel, crushed stone, grain, coal, cement etc), the bolt solid plate fastening system can be easily installed with portable hand tools or power tools. Exclusive piloted bolts feature tapered tips that cradle the nuts securely in place, reducing installation time.

In addition to Flexco’s #1, 140, and 190 bolt solid plate fasteners, the company offers two, two-and-a-quarter, two-and-a-half and three fasteners for thicker belts.
