Finning invest in new state-of-the-art Dublin branch

Finning's new facility in Ireland

Cat dealer to relocate Irish operational base from Greenogue to new custom-built site in Rathcoole

CATERPILLAR dealers Finning UK and Ireland have shown their commitment to the Irish market by acquiring a new, six-acre, purpose-built site at the Aerodrome Business Park in Rathcoole. The investment will see Finning relocate operations from their existing site in Greenogue to the new facility in spring 2014.

The premises was custom built by a previous plant and equipment dealer and is said to present the ideal space for Finning to house and grow their Irish operations. It features two-storey offices, a showroom, a parts warehouse and two larger workshops, including 16 work bays, which will give customers quicker repair turnaround times.

The move will also see Finning Power Systems based on site, creating further opportunities for customers to benefit from a variety of services offered by Finning. Furthermore, the opening of the headquarters will generate additional employment opportunities in the area.

Gary Megarrell, Finning Ireland general manager, said: ‘Since the dealership in Ireland transitioned to Finning in 2010, it has been key to our strategic direction to secure the right facility to run our operations efficiently and profitably for the long term.

‘Dublin is a key strategic location for us given the proximity to some of our key customers operating in the mineral extraction, construction, marine and data centre segments.

‘The facility will become an important part of the Finning infrastructure with ample room for expansion and strengthens our commitment to our employees and customers. Operations will continue in our current facility at Greenogue until the second quarter of 2014, when we hope to be fully operational in the new facility.’

Finning Ireland also have branches in Lisburn, Co. Antrim and Cork city.
