Familiar face joins Brett Group board
Bill Bolsover appointed as a non-executive director of Canterbury-based independent quarrying company
THE Brett Group, one of the UK’s largest independent quarrying, construction and building materials firms, have announced that Bill Bolsover CBE has joined their board as a non-executive director.
A Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying and a Companion of the Chartered Institute of Management, Mr Bolsover (pictured) began his career in construction in 1970 working in mining in Australia and the Koolan Islands.
He joined Tarmac in 1974 and gained extensive industry experience and commercial expertise working in the company’s Readycrete, Roadstone, Topmix and Quarry Products divisions.
In 2000, Mr Bolsover was appointed as managing director of Aggregate Industries’ UK and European operations, then group chief executive in 2006 and non-executive chairman in April 2010.
He currently also chairs the UK Strategic Forum for Construction and is immediate past chairman of the Construction Products Association.
Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Bolsover said: ‘I’m particularly pleased to be taking up the role of non-executive director for this well-positioned independent company and will enjoy contributing to its long-term development.’
