Fahey’s Concrete power ahead with Finlay Plant SW

FAHEY’S Concrete Ltd say they are getting maximum advantage from their aggregate processing plant, following the delivery of two new machines from Finlay Plant SW.

 

The company has introduced a Terex Finlay J-1175 jaw crusher, complete with an independent pre-screen, and a C-1540 RS cone crusher, complete with a pre-screen and side conveyor, at its Camelford site, in north Cornwall.

 

Gareth Johnson, managing director of Finlay Plant SW, which is part of the Finlay Group of companies, said: ‘With the J-1175 and the C-1540 RS machines, we have tried to cater as closely as possible to the customer’s needs.

 

‘The J-1175 has an independent pre-screen with a very aggressive action, which eradicates as many fines as possible, prior to the rock entering the jaw chamber.

 

‘Following the J-1175 is the C-1540 RS, where the crushed product passes directly over an on-board 1.83m x 1.22m single-deck screen prior to the cone chamber.

 

‘Finlay Group fitted a side conveyor under the screen, giving the option of a screened product from the J-1175.

 

‘The cone crusher is constantly choke fed, which helps develop a precise shape for the product and eradicates any shale.

 

‘After the material has passed through the cone chamber, it is conveyed over a 3.66m x 1.52m single-deck screen, oversize transfer conveyor, recirculating conveyor and fines conveyor.’

As well as processing gritstone for stone-mastic asphalt, the Camelford site produces various other products to cater for its growing customer base. Both machines from Finlay Plant SW are track mounted and able to move around the quarry, as required, to carry out this function.
