Envirologger launch new Web Logger G2

Second-generation environmental data logging system now available

SINCE its launch in 2007, the Web Logger from Gloucestershire-based Envirologger has become one of the most successful data-logging packages on the market. More than 400 units are now in operation across Europe and Africa, providing reliable data capture with remote control and diagnostics capability, reducing the cost of monitoring and improving the quality of data.

Building on the success of its predecessor, the next-generation Web Logger G2 offers up to 255 channels of data, each one of which can be specified with a different communication frequency and data average rate, while memory capacity has been increased to 2GB on a micro SD card to provide years of on-board data backup.

In addition to pulse and analog, the G2 can now accept inputs from sensors and analyzers in a wide variety of communication methods, including SDI12, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB and WiFi. XBee radio nodes plus longer-range radio frequencies are also supported along with new cellular modem options such as faster 3G and an optional GPS locator.

‘We are now able to exploit the benefits of wireless communications between monitoring locations and the logger, and between the logger and the Internet,’ explained Jim Mills, managing director of Envirologger. ‘In addition, the G2 ‘pushes’ data to our web servers so that users are able to view live data 24/7.

‘Further advantages include user-defined automatic text and email alarm functions and in order to offer these improved benefits to as many customers as possible, we are offering trade-in allowances to anyone with an older logger.’

Typical applications for G2 include those for which live access to field data is required, eg air-quality monitoring, traffic monitoring, process monitoring, water monitoring, noise monitoring, weather monitoring etc.
