Enhanced two-deck Doublescreen solution from Sandvik

The new QA442 two-deck Doublescreen from Sandvik The new QA442 two-deck Doublescreen from Sandvik

New QA442 developed with sustainability, productivity and lower cost of ownership in mind

SANDVIK Mobile Crushers and Screens have announced the launch of their new QA442 – the latest evolution of the Sandvik QA Series products and Sandvik Doublescreen technology. Developed with sustainability, productivity, and lower cost of ownership in mind, the QA442 is described as a ‘high-performing processing solution, ideal for producing massive volumes of high-specification products for the mineral, aggregate and recycling industries’.

Featuring Sandvik Doublescreen technology, the QA442 utilizes two high-velocity, two-deck in-line screens with equal size screen decks, each providing 9m2 (100ft2) of screening area. The primary screen performs as a fines extractor, whilst the secondary screen performs as a grader. The two processes combined on one plant are said to offer exceptional flexibility, excellent separation, accurate grading and massive throughput.

Both primary and secondary screening angles can be adjusted independently, leading to greater material control, greater adjustability, increased accuracy and higher screening efficiencies. Each screen deck features end-tensioned screen media using Sandvik’s unique mesh tensioning system for faster screen mesh tensioning and removal when uptime is crucial.

A choice of screen media is available including Sandvik’s new range of WX rubber media which combines the high accuracy of wire screens but with the durability of rubber, offering up to 10 times longer wear life and up to 50% faster installation compared with wire mesh. Having equal size panels also means the screen media is interchangeable between decks.

The QA442 screen drives have been reconfigured to include removeable flywheel weights, making it easier to fine-tune each screen to particular application needs. Also, the oversize chute now includes three blending gates making it possible to blend oversize with mid-size product to meet demanding aggregate product specifications.

The QA442 also offers a hybrid ‘e’ drive option with electric plug-in, which allows the user to choose their preferred energy source – electric from an upstream crusher/external source powering the electric-hydraulic drive, or the on-board HVO/diesel engine-hydraulic drive.

The QA442’s engine speed and hydraulics have been optimized to reduced energy wastage, reduce fuel consumption, and minimize operating noise, all whilst meeting the latest emissions regulations. In addition, hydraulic oil change intervals have been extended from 2,000h to 4,000h, meaning up to 50% less hydraulic oil is consumed during the machine’s life (subject to oil sampling), saving time, money, and lowering the machine’s carbon footprint.

The QA442 comes with Security+ extended warranty and service package and is connected to Sandvik My Fleet with a seven-year data subscription providing around-the-clock fleet management, geo-fencing, and remote support.
