Company receives Technology of the Year accolade at recent MEWAR Awards
EDGE Innovate, manufacturers of equipment for the recycling, material handling, and quarrying industries, have won the Technology of the Year category at the MEWAR Awards, which were held in Dubai earlier this month.
Launched in 2018, the MEWAR Awards celebrates the success of adopting best practices in the environmental management business. The fifth edition recognized outstanding individuals and organizations that have demonstrated leadership and innovation in their respective fields and have significantly contributed to environmental sustainability, along with economic viability, ultimately, contributing to a greener future.
Held on 9 November at Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah, the evening brought together representatives from the waste-management, recycling, packaging, and other environmental industries. The awards saw tremendous participation with entries submitted by companies from the Middle East and Europe.
Capturing the judging panel’s eye for the ‘Technology of the Year’ category was EDGE Innovate’s electric-powered, twin-shaft, high-torque waste shredder. Naming the Co. Tyrone-based company’s machine as the winning entry, the judging panel was hugely impressed with its remarkable environmental benefits, energy efficiency, noise reduction, and versatility whilst noting its significant contribution to the waste-management sector in the region.
The EDGE electric shredder is widely regarded within the industry for its ability to finely shred difficult materials allowing for better recycling and waste reduction, contributing to circular economy principles. A product that continually evolves, EDGE Innovate say it has the potential to support the reform of waste-management practices and set new standards for environmental responsibility in the waste-recycling sector.
