Dutch rental company choose Wacker Neuson’s most powerful compact excavator
Dutch rental company Van der Linden Groen BV were looking for a particularly powerful compact excavator as part of a plan to expand their rental fleet.
In trials with various competitor machines, Wacker Neuson's 14504 compact excavator stood out as the best solution in its class. The 14504 soon proved its worth, exceeding expectations during its first deployment in the Dutch town of Schinnen.
The excavator has an operating weight of 15 tonnes, is 2.79m high, 2.49m wide, features a 74.9kW engine (adjustable), a digging depth of 5.5m and a stable base. At the heart of the excavator is a Deutz turbo diesel engine. Despite its low-rated rev speed (2,000 rev/min), the diesel engine provides steady power reserves across the entire power range. High power does not, however, mean high diesel consumption. The excavator’s flow-rate reduction technology, combined with the optional pump adjustment function for the auxiliary hydraulic system, creates significant efficiency potential. Operators can select maximum or reduced flow rate. An additional three-level pump regulator raises efficiency levels and cuts costs by ensuring the excavator does not remain in full load mode.
John van der Linden, CEO of Van der Linden Groen BV, was impressed by the 14504's credentials: ‘The 14504 ticks all the boxes. It is compact, versatile and a real powerhouse - qualities it certainly demonstrated during demolition work at a factory site. The Wacker Neuson compact excavator is unique in the 14-tonne category.’
Van der Linden has been working with compact machines from Wacker Neuson for many years now and can testify to their reliability and price/performance. The new 14504 is the latest addition to the company's existing fleet of Wacker Neuson compact excavators, track and four-wheel dumpers.
