DUO host mobile washing plant open day
Following a successful Hillhead exhibition earlier this year, which saw the launch of the Powerscreen Aggwash, DUO hosted a three-day open event to give people the opportunity to view the new mobile washing plant in operation alongside a Gennaretti mobile water-treatment plant.
Held at Elford Quarry, in the West Midlands, the site is owned and operated by JPE Aggregates who are using the site to process construction and demolition and utilities waste with the first Powerscreen Aggwash system in the UK.
The Powerscreen Aggwash system brings together for the first time rinsing, screening, scrubbing and sand washing capabilities on a single transportable chassis. Primarily designed for the processing of construction and demolition waste but equally suited to virgin material applications. Aggwash is capable of producing four grades of aggregate and two grades of sand.
As well as the Aggwash system, JPE are also operating a mobile water treatment plant in the form of a Gennaretti centrifuge, which was required to work alongside the Aggwash system to prevent the silt and water going to the lagoon.
The centrifuge produces a cake that JPE can handle and dispose of on-site. It also prevents potential future issues with the Environment Agency.
In addition to the working demonstration of the two mobile machines DUO also exhibited an LJH mobile picking station, an Armcon mobile volumetric mixer and the new EDGE slayer shredder.
The Aggwash system received lots of positive feedback with many visitors impressed with its compact size and the ease of mobility on a single chassis and the quality of the product produced.
Several companies who attended the event are not currently washing aggregate but were surprised with the ease in which they would be able to do this by using the Aggwash system.
