Doosan win huge order from A-Plant

UK plant hire specialist places order for close to 500 compressors worth in excess of £4 million

DOOSAN Portable Power have won an order for portable compressors worth well over £4 million from A-Plant, the plant, tools and equipment hire specialists. The order comprises close to 500 Doosan compressors, including the first order in the UK for the innovative new 7/73-10/53 ‘Dual Mode’ model from Doosan.

A-Plant have ordered more than 60 of the 7/73-10/53 portable compressors as well as a further 24 of the larger 7/125-10/110 ‘Dual Mode’ model, alongside more than 400 other units including 7/20 and 7/26EG single-tool and 7/41 and 7/41G two-tool compressors.

The innovative ‘Dual Mode’ feature incorporated as standard on the 7/73-10/53 and 7/125-10/110 compressors offers a choice of dual pressure and flow outputs on both machines that can be selected simply by pushing a button on the keypad, providing users with a ‘two-for-one’ solution.

Andrew Winlow, director of purchasing and fleet management at A-Plant, said: “We bought a tranche of the new Doosan 7/125-10/110 compressors last year and have been impressed with the flexibility and cost savings they offer. In the new order we have added more of these compressors together with over 60 of the new 7/73-10/53 models to provide even more flexibility in the fleet.’

Steve Hallam, UK sales manager for Doosan Portable Power, said: ‘This is one of the largest orders ever won by Doosan Portable Power and is the result of our close collaboration with A-Plant over many years. The new 7/73-10/53 and 7/125-10/110 compressors are the fruits of our ongoing investment in the research and development of the Doosan range of portable power products aimed at applications in plant and tool rental, construction and utilities.’

The 7/20, 7/26EG, 7/41, 7/41G, 7/73-10/53 and 7/125-10/110 models are part of a complete line of portable compressors from Doosan Portable Power comprising 24 different models, with free air deliveries from 2 to 45 cubic metres per minute and operating pressures between 7 and 25 bar. The modular design of the machines ensures that a wide range of optional equipment can be added easily, such as the integral generators in the 7/26EG and 7/41G models ordered by A-Plant.
