Doosan launch new Stage IV-compliant crawler excavator
Latest DX235NLC-5 model designed specially for easy transportation and work in confined space
DOOSAN Construction Equipment have introduced their DX235NLC-5 crawler excavator, one of the latest models in the company’s new LC-5 generation of equipment machinery, offering a narrow width design for easy transportation and working in confined spaces.
Building on advances from the company’s previous LC-3 generation machines, the latest DX235NLC-5 excavator offers enhanced comfort and controllability with new features to optimize fuel efficiency, uptime and return on investment.
Featuring a distinctive machine styling scheme common to all new Doosan LC-5 excavators, the Stage IV-compliant machine is powered by a six-cylinder, turbocharged Doosan DL06P water-cooled diesel engine, which delivers an output of 121kW (162hp) at 1,800 rev/min.
According to Doosan, the DL06P engine is one of the most reliable and fuel-efficient ever produced by the South Korean manufacturer, with new and exclusive features helping to reduce fuel consumption by as much as 9%.
Among these features is: a new trip meter setting screen that allows operators to check fuel consumption daily (or over a desired period) directly from the control panel; and a special Doosan-developed Smart Power Control (SPC) system that optimizes the balance between the pumps’ output and diesel engine.
The all-round performance of the DX235NLC-5 has been improved considerably compared with the previous model; with 10% and 13% increases in engine power and torque, respectively. The machine also provides 10% more traction force and an 8% increase in bucket force.
The DX235NLC-5 excavator is factory-installed with CoreTMS – a state-of-the-art wireless fleet-monitoring system previously not available as standard on Doosan excavators but now incorporated in all new LC-5 generation machines above 14 tonnes.
Already spacious and ergonomic, the new cab in the LC-5 machine has been further refined for superior operator comfort and ease of operation. The cab offers greater controllability with a new system that allows attachments to be operated from either the joystick or a two-way pedal. Users also have the unique jog shuttle switch which remains a feature exclusive to Doosan excavators worldwide.
As with all LC-5 excavators above 20 tonnes, the DX235NLC-3 model incorporates a thicker inside plate in the arms and booms, providing front reinforcement to relieve stress concentrations.
Air pre-cleaners are fitted as standard on the machine, to blow much of the dust, dirt, insects, rain and snow out of the intake, to ensure cleaner air is sent to the engine air filter. This helps extend air cleaner servicing intervals, increasing uptime and productivity.
