Doosan launch HB-series breakers

New range of five hydraulic breakers for use on Doosan carriers from 1.2 tonnes up to 15 tonnes

DOOSAN Infracore Europe have launched the new HB-series hydraulic breaker range for the European market. Offering high performance and a simplified design, the range comprises five models for use on Doosan mini-excavators and Doosan crawler and wheeled excavators weighing from 1.2 to 15 tonnes.

With their low-noise housings, the new HB03, HB04, HB06, HB08 and HB15 breakers are well suited to demolition work in urban zones but are also intended for mining, quarrying, general construction and rental applications.

Backed by a two-year warranty, Doosan say the service life of the breakers has been extended through the adoption of an advanced heat-treatment process and proven materials for key components, including the cylinder and piston.

For example, the energy of the piston stroke is accumulated by charged nitrogen gas and the breakers use an inward valve system with a simple structure and fewer inner parts. In addition, a urethane damper prevents vibration that might damage the carrier and improves operator comfort, whilst the front head supports the breaker and assemblies with bushing, which buffers the shock from the tool.

The new range begins with the HB03 breaker, which is suitable for use on the 1.7-tonne Doosan DX17z and 1.9-tonne DX19 mini-excavators. It weighs 100kg, has a 45mm tool diameter and a maximum frequency of 1,200 blows per minute (bpm). Next in the range is the HB04 for the 2.7-tonne DX27z and 3.5-tonne DX35z mini-excavators. It weighs 150kg, has a 53mm tool diameter and a maximum frequency of 1,100bpm.

The third model in the range, the HB06, is designed for use on the 6-tonne Doosan DX57W-5 wheeled excavator and DX62R-3 and DX63-3 mini-excavators. It weighs 300kg, has a 60mm tool diameter and a maximum frequency of 900bpm. The fourth model in the range is the HB08 for use with the 8-tonne Doosan DX85-3 mini-excavator. It weighs 390kg, has an 80mm tool diameter and a maximum frequency of 800bpm.

Finally, the top-of-the-range HB15 is designed for use with the Doosan DX140LC-5, DX140LCR-5 and DX160LC-5 crawler excavators and the Doosan DX140W-5, DX160W-5 and DX165W-5 wheeled excavators. It weighs 900kg, has a tool diameter of 100mm and a maximum frequency of 700bpm.
