Doosan expand compressor range for MEA markets
Company’s offering now covers full range of compressed-air applications in the Middle East and Africa
THE portable compressor range from Doosan Portable Power continues to expand for markets in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), covering the full range of compressed-air applications – including construction, rental, utilities and quarrying – with free air deliveries from 185 to 1,500 cubic feet/min (5.0 to 42.5 cubic metres/min) at output pressures from 100 to 500 psi (7 to 35 bar). As well as a wide selection of Tier 3 high-ambient models, the range also includes several Tier 1 or Tier 2 engine-powered models that are well suited to the fuel quality levels found in these regions.
Among the smallest Tier 2 models is the popular C185WKUB-EX-T2 compressor which offers a number of advantages including a compact design, easy towability and transportation, and high manoeuvrability for use in confined areas. With a simple and reliable instrumentation panel with mechanical gauges, combined with what is said to be the industry’s most reliable airend, the C185WKUB-EX-T2 is suitable for both rental and contractor operations and meets the highest industry safety standards.
The C185WKUB-EX-T2 has a free air delivery of 185 cubic feet/min (5.2 cubic metres/min), operates at a working pressure of 100 psi (7 bar) and is aimed at standard-pressure applications in construction, such as powering breakers and tools in road repair, demolition and refurbishment. For these applications, there are three or four air power outlets and a number of useful options.
Another popular model in the MEA region is the Tier 3 P260/HP220WYM-T3 compressor, which offers many of the features found in the smaller machine but also offers a dual-pressure option for more versatility to serve a wider range of applications. As a result, the ‘two-in-one’ P260/HP220WYM-T3 delivers air flows ranging from 220 to 260 cubic feet/min (6.2 to 7.4 cubic metres/min) and pressures ranging from 100 to 150 psi (7 to 10 bar).
Providing a free air delivery of 375 cubic feet/min (10.6 cubic metres/min) at 125 psi (8.6 bar), the larger XP375WCU-T2 compressor features a Tier 2 Cummins mechanically controlled engine particularly suited to MEA fuel quality levels and offering easy operation and maintenance. This model has been specially designed for the MEA climate and features a reliable, heavy-duty air intake filtration system allowing it to cope easily with very dusty environments.
For larger air flows of 825 cubic feet/min (23.3 cubic metres/min) at an output pressure of 125 psi (8.6 bar), the mid range 9/235WCU-T2 compressor also features a Tier 2 Cummins mechanically controlled engine as well as a high ambient temperature (52°C) package/cool box air-flow system suitable for use in the MEA region.
For quarrying and deep drilling work, Doosan offer a number of different models such as the XHP900WCAT-T1 and XHP1070WCAT-T1 units incorporating the reliable Cat 3406 Tier l mechanically controlled engine. These compressors have free air deliveries of 900 cubic feet/min (25.4 cubic metres/min) and 1,070 cubic feet/min (30.3 cubic metres/min), respectively, at an output pressure of 350 psi (24.1 bar).
Taking the range up to a free air delivery of 1,270 cubic feet/min (36 cubic metres/min) and an output pressure of 500 psi (35 bar) is the XXHP1270 model, an open-frame compressor with a small footprint and what is said to be the highest power density in the industry, in terms of the flow and pressure combination. The XXHP1270 model offers dual flow and dual pressure as standard.
