Details of the Cement Industry Suppliers’ Forum annual conference and dinner in Stratford-upon-Avon
THIS year’s conference of the Cement Industry Suppliers’ Forum will be held from 9–10 October (Tuesday lunchtime to lunch on Wednesday) at The Welcombe Hotel, near Stratford-upon-Avon, in Warwickshire, providing an opportunity for representatives of cement companies and their suppliers to update themselves on technical, economic and regulatory developments of mutual interest.
The conference programme, presentation titles and speakers are still being confirmed, but the event is expected to address issues of maintenance, energy management and cost of ownership; trends in logistics and importation; and developments in alternative low-carbon cements. A review of the year and an update on economic trends is also planned.
The CISF annual dinner will take place on Tuesday evening (9 October), with John Taylor as the guest speaker. Before retirement, Mr Taylor spent many years handling technical enquiries for Hanson Cement, based at Ketton cement plant. Having previously worked in the ready-mixed concrete industry, he was also chief examiner for The Institute of Concrete Technology.
The fees for the event cover full catering from lunch on Tuesday to lunch on Wednesday, the programme of presentations, the CISF annual dinner and overnight accommodation on site.
