Chronos Richardson unveil new robot palletizer

Complementing the Chronos Richardson range of bagging systems is a new addition to the company’s palletizer range — the RP500 ‘Cartesian’ robot palletizer — which is used for palletizing filled bags on manually positioned empty pallets.

The RP500 incorporates the same bag gripper as Chronos Richardson’s compact palletizer, which comprises a grid to pick up the bag and a pneumatically actuated pusher to deposit the bag on the layer.

The bag gripper has four-axis mobility (longitudinal movement; transverse movement; vertical movement; and rotation), taking the bags from the feed conveyor and depositing them on the pallet. An in-built operator interface panel allows for regular status checks, with the user being able to review the selected programme and in-built bag counter.

Designed to achieve the benefits of traditional and robotic palletizing techniques, the RP500 comes with floor-mounted empty pallet guide plates and interlocked safety fences/barriers.
