CECE announces new president

Enrico Prandini and Bernd Holz

Enrico Prandini succeeds Bernd Holz as president of the Committee for European Construction Equipment

THE Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE) has appointed former first vice-president Enrico Prandini as its new president. Effective 1 January 2018, he succeeds Bernd Holz in the rotating post which is held for two consecutive years by each of the associations representing their member nations.

Mr Prandini, who is managing director of Komatsu Italia Manufacturing and vice-president of the Italian construction equipment association UNACEA, says he intends to push ahead with the long-term strategy of his predecessors at CECE, building customer loyalty through a common vision, and addressing technological change, skills shortages and the challenges arising from digital construction along the value chain.

Mr Prandini (left of photo) believes that CECE should also continue to further foster visibility and political recognition for the construction equipment sector, in a bid to gain more attention and impact, and promote the idea of fair competition and free trade for all market players in Europe, to avoid unnecessary complexity in laws and regulations.

As president of CECE, Mr Prandini will represent 1,200 construction equipment manufacturers throughout Europe, who between them generate €40 billion in annual revenue and employ around 300,000 people.
