Brett Group become sole owners of Britannia Aggregates
Company acquires Tarmac’s 50% shareholding in joint-venture marine aggregates business
THE Brett Group have recently acquired Tarmac’s 50% shareholding in marine aggregates firm Britannia Aggregates for an undisclosed sum and, as a result, are now sole owners of the company.
Britannia Aggregates have operated as a joint-venture company over the past 30 years, dredging marine aggregates from the English Channel and the North Sea and delivering into Brett Aggregates’ facilities at Cliffe, Northfleet and Ipswich, as well as to external customers.
Welcoming Britannia’s staff to the Brett Group, chairman Bill Brett said: ‘Full ownership of the business, which includes the ship, the Britannia Beaver, and the rights to the extensive marine reserves that she dredges from, further strengthens and supports our strategic position in the South East as we continue to develop and invest in our marine aggregate facilities.’
