Bobcat launch new MT55 mini-tracked loader
Bobcat have announced the introduction of the new MT55 mini-tracked loader. The MT55 is suitable for mechanizing manual work in confined and limited access areas where it is not possible to use larger machines. With an overall width with bucket of just 903mm, length of 3,113mm (with bucket and standing platform) and height of 1,246mm, the MT55 is suitable for digging, loading and clean-up applications (both indoor and out), particularly on construction, demolition and landscaping sites.
Powered by a 17.5kW Kubota D902-E3B diesel engine, the MT55 has a rated operating capacity (ISO 5998) of 251kg, a tipping load (ISO 8313) of 719kg and a pushing force of 9,386N. With the arms in the fully raised position, the MT55 has a height to hinge pin of 1,807mm and a dump height of 1,265mm.
The MT55 features an all-hydrostatic transmission and track-drive system, providing smooth operation and manoeuvrability. The durable rubber-track undercarriage of the MT55 distributes the loader’s operating weight of 1,137kg over a large area, which reduces ground pressure to just 35.9kPa and minimizes disturbance to turf and other established surfaces. The C-Pattern tracks provide excellent traction and flotation for digging and other applications and for working in muddy or wet conditions. The MT55 has a maximum forward travel speed of 5.6km/h and 2.3km/h in reverse.
The MT55 has more than 20 attachments. Changing attachments is fast and easy via the Bob-Tach attachment mounting system. The attachments for the MT55 allow contractors to move dirt, landscape, install fences, plant trees, drill post holes, install sprinkler systems etc.
The MT55 is easy to operate. The instrument panel is fitted with simple, low-effort controls - the direction and speed of the machine is controlled by one multi-function handle. The lift and tilt hydraulic functions are also controlled by a single hand lever. The front auxiliary hydraulics for the attachments is controlled by the fore/aft movement of the hand lever.
The directional control handle features adjustable tilt steering so users can adjust the directional control handle to match their height or the position they have adopted, depending on whether they are using the optional ride-on platform or are walking behind the machine.
The optional ride-on operator platform decreases operator fatigue when the loader is travelling over long distances or is working over many hours. Bobcat are the only manufacturers to offer a mini tracked loader with a removable ride-on platform, providing better access to tight jobsites.
Safety features on the MT55 mini tracked loader are comprehensive. When an operator releases the continuous flow shut-off lever, any hydraulically powered attachment stops running and only resumes operation when the operator again grips this lever. Other safety features include a reverse-travel stop panel, a parking brake, neutral start interlocks, a lift and tilt lockout system, a lift arm bypass and a lift arm support device.
