BJD hammermill for fertilizer giant
UEB-type hammermill supplied to Croatian mineral fertilizer specialists Petrokemija d.d.
UK crushing equipment manufacturers BJD Crushers Ltd have recently supplied one of their UEB-type hammermills to Croatian firm Petrokemija d.d., who produce 1.35 million tonnes of mineral fertilizer a year.
Based in Kutina, central Croatia, Petrokemija d.d. employ 2,370 people and are Croatia’s third largest exporter. Principally engaged in the production of mineral fertilizers, the company also produces liquid fertilizers and clay-based products.
The 24x30 BJD hammermill (pictured) will be employed on granular size reduction of mono-ammonium phosphate (MAP) – a highly efficient source of phosphorus and nitrogen nutrition for crops.
Designed for a throughput of 20 tonnes/h from an infeed of 2–5mm material, the hammermill will produce a nominal granular product of –1mm (95%) with 25% –0.2mm.
BJD say the UEB-type hammermill is particularly well suited to mineral fertilizer duty where moisture levels in the feed material are variable. Featuring an extended sloping back, the machine provides additional angled space within the crushing chamber which helps prevent bridging when processing material with a moisture content of up to 10%.
The crusher is constructed of heavy plate steel, with heavy-duty renewable liners, and is fitted with a screen arrangement to match the duty. Mounted on a base frame, the modular package comprises the hammermill, fully guarded drive arrangement and electric motor.
Designed for reliable and efficient size reduction of friable and fibrous materials, BJD hammermills are part of a complete range of processing and recycling equipment from BJD Crushers Ltd, including impactors, double-roll crushers, Mud Hogs, Flexmills and Flextooth crushers.
