ARH Conveyors win Norwegian quarry order
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE-based ARH Conveyors have won an order to supply six complete conveyor systems to a coastal quarry near Bergen in Norway.
Operated by Halsvik Aggregates, the joint venture between Aggregate Industries and Wergeland Holdings, the quarry is currently undergoing extensive upgrading following the granting of planning and environmental permissions for a 200 million tonne extension.
The upgrade will significantly expand the quarry's capacity to over 2.5 million tonnes a year through the installation of an additional Nordberg primary crushing and screening station, the upgrading of the secondary crushing and aggregate screening plants, and the addition of a new washing plant.
In addition, the site benefits from one of Norway's largest quarry shiploading facilities. The current developments are part of a strategic expansion of the business to serve the markets of northern mainland Europe, Norway and the UK.
ARH Conveyors have worked closely with both the UK and Norwegian management to design a system of conveyors which will facilitate economical transport by road and sea, simple build-up on site, and prompt installation within a working plant with minimal shutdown.
