AR Demolition win prestige construction sector award
Demolition contractors scoop top accolade at Construction News Specialist Awards event
AR Demolition have recently been recognized by leading construction industry professionals and their peers for outstanding achievements in a number of high-profile categories at the 2014 Construction News Specialist Awards ceremony held in London.
The company won the main Special Award – also known as the ‘Winners’ Winner’ – as well as the top award for training excellence. AR Demolition were also high commended in four other categories – Health and Safety Excellence, Business Growth and in two sub-contractor Project of the Year awards.
The Construction News Specialist Awards were attended by 650 of the UK’s leading specialist contractors and industry elite to recognize and celebrate the very best performers judged by a panel of over 50 major contractors, clients and industry leaders.
On the Training Excellence award, judges said that the company ‘had a passionate commitment to developing all of its employees’ and that managing director Richard Dolman was a true ambassador for the industry, praising his passion for training and describing him as ‘a role model that other businesses should look up to.’
In the Health and Safety Excellence category AR Demolition impressed the judging panel for their rigorous approach to health and safety, with Richard Dolman outlining his vision of safe working as one of his company’s founding principles.
The high commendation in Business Growth was a result of AR Demolition demonstrating ‘bold moves’ in a very competitive and mature sector, typified on two contracts – the Derby Press Hall and Kings Cross Station where the company was also highly commended in two Project of the Year awards.
Mr Dolman commented: ‘These awards demonstrate just how far we have come in our short six year involvement in the demolition industry. Throughout this time we have never wavered from our core principles of developing a group of highly trained employees with health and safety always at the forefront of our daily activities. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved and these awards are the icing on the cake for all the hard work and effort put in by my dedicated team.’
