Company says promoting a culture of fairness, inclusion and respect makes good sense

AGGREGATE Industries have committed to a programme promoting a culture of fairness, inclusion and respect (FIR).

The FIR programme is a cross-client, cross-contractor, cross-industry programme championing equality and diversity, creating high-quality resources whilst training and empowering colleagues to make a real change.

The programme is being delivered by the Supply Chain Sustainability School and the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA), with funding and support from the Construction Industry Training board (CITB).

In addition to Aggregate Industries, more than 35 other organizations have already signed up, including Network Rail, Balfour Beatty and GRAHAM Construction.

Donna Hunt (pictured), head of sustainability at Aggregate Industries, commented: ‘As a founding member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, we are always looking for ways to further support the industry.

‘Committing to a culture of FIR simply makes sense – promoting a more inclusive and better working environment for everyone will enable us to capture the business benefits of diversity, including better productivity, increased talent retention, innovation and collaboration.

‘We believe it is cultural change that holds the key to sustainable growth for the construction sector.’
