First published in the March 2025 issue of Quarry Management The Big One
A look ahead to next month’s bauma 2025 – the world’s leading construction trade fair – and highlights some of the newest products and innovative solutions from Germany’s triennial international showcase event
bauma 2025 will take place at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre next month (7–13 April). It is arguably the world’s largest construction/mining equipment exhibition, and according to the show organizers, Messe München, the latest edition is expected to be bigger and busier than the post-pandemic event held in 2022.
Attendees at bauma 2025 will have the opportunity to explore the stands of more than 3,500 exhibitors from 57 countries, with companies participating and using the event as a platform to showcase their latest products and service offerings across 614,000m2 of exhibition space.
There is simply no other trade fair in the world where visitors can find such a high concentration of key international OEMs and players, innovative solutions, and vibrant dialogue within the construction industry.
‘We are experiencing exceptionally strong demand from the industry,’ said Stefan Rummel, chief executive officer of Messe München. ‘And I am extremely confident that we will have over 500,000 visitors attending bauma 2025, compared with the October 2022 event (495,132 attendees), when there were still concerns regarding the Covid pandemic, although most restrictions had been lifted by that time.’
This year’s bauma show will also welcome back some of the construction and mining industry’s biggest OEMs, including Volvo CE, LiuGong, and Deutz. At the same time, new companies exhibiting for the first time at the event will include HG Machines, Fortescue, and new start-up firm Gravis Robotics, a Swiss manufacturer of autonomous excavators.
Once again, bauma 2025 will be an exceptional leap forward in innovation and technology, with a strong focus on various themes shaping the future of construction. Key topics for discussion at the show will include: climate neutrality; alternative drive concepts (electrification, hydrogen, HVO-powered machinery etc); networked construction; sustainable construction; and the ‘mining challenge.’
Here, we provide a brief insight into some of the new plant and equipment, technological innovations, and service solutions that will be featured at next month’s triennial showcase event in Germany.
