XCMG loaders
Having identified a UK market for budget wheel loaders, Hampshire-based William Wheatley (Wickham) Ltd have recently obtained the right to import XCMG loading shovels into the UK.
Founded in 1989, XCMG (Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group) are the largest state-owned Chinese manufacturer to produce a full line of construction equipment. The company has an annual turnover of around £1.5 billion and last year its export sales reached £130 million
Among the wheel loader models now available in the UK are the ZL 30G, which has an operating weight 10.5 tonnes, a 1.7m3 bucket, a maximum breakout force of 110kN and a rated load capacity of 3,000kg; and the 18-tonne ZL 50G, which has a 3.0m3 bucket, a maximum breakout force of 170kN and a rated load capacity of 5,000kg. Both machines have CE and EU type approval.
The ZL 50G features an original Cummins engine and a Chinese joint-venture ZF transmission, which means spare parts can be easily sourced in the UK. Likewise, the smaller ZL 30G has a Chinese joint-venture Perkins engine, again with parts available in the UK. Other spare parts are also being stocked by William Wheatley (Wickham) Ltd.
