X-Splash wash bay wins Green Apple Award
Trime UK to receive environmental award from The Green Organisation for sustainable wash-bay system
TRIME UK, specialist suppliers of sustainable construction equipment, have had the environmental qualities of their X-Splash wash bay formally recognized by internationally respected campaigners The Green Organisation.
Senior representatives from the Cambridgeshire-based company will receive a prestigious Green Apple Award during a presentation ceremony at the Houses of Parliament on 12 November.
The X-Splash wash bay is an ecological, flexible cleaning system for plant and machinery, which prevents soil pollution and contamination of drains from oil, grease and similar chemical pollutants.
Four key factors are said to distinguish the X-Splash from other washing systems: a recycling process whereby water is contained and reused; a filtering system that ensures no contaminates are discharged accidently; a reduction in overall water usage; and a fully portable/relocatable set-up.
Trime UK, who offer a complete delivery, installation and training programme for all purchasers of the system, have recently produced a comprehensive training video detailing all the features and benefits of the X-Splash.
Commenting on the accolade, Trime UK’s managing director, Paul Hay, said: ‘Naturally, we are honoured to receive this award. Environmental issues are the cornerstone in our product development, so to have the X-Splash officially acknowledged as a sustainable product is extremely gratifying.’
The Green Apple Awards, which began in 1994 and have become established as a major accolade for the recognition of environmental endeavor, are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution for Wastes Management and other independent bodies.
Trime UK Ltd supply many of the leading UK rental firms with eco-sensitive LED site lighting equipment. The company is now extending its line of equipment to encompass a range of environmentally biased equipment built specifically for the hire markets, and the X-Splash is one of the first products in this expanding range.
