Weldability-Sif introduce new SifChrome range
Latest rutile-coated electrodes suited for welding fillet joints in horizontal/vertical position
WELDABILITY-SIF have launched a new series of rutile-coated electrodes – SifChrome 308L, SifChrome 312, SifChrome 316L and SifChrome 316L CRYO – from their Sifbronze brand of welding products.
The SifChrome range is suitable for welding fillet joints in the horizontal/vertical position, as the titanium oxide in the electrode coating makes these electrodes easy to strike and produces a smooth arc with little spatter, together with a good weld appearance and self-releasing slag.
All the new welding electrodes are supplied in hermetically sealed cans. The SifChrome308L electrode is designed to weld austenitic stainless steels in diary and cold storage applications and features ultimate tensile strength (UTS) >550N/mm2. This model is available in 2.5mm, 3.2mm and 4.0mm diameters.
SifChrome 312 contains a high level of Cr/Ni for the welding of difficult-to-weld steels such as armour plate, austenitic Mn steel, high carbon and Cr/Ni steels and again features ultimate tensile strength >800N/mm2.
SifChrome 316L is designed to weld molybdenum alloyed 18/12 and similar Cr/Ni/Mo steels producing weld with high resistance against general and intergranular corrosion with a UTS >550N/mm2. It is available in 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.2mm and 4mm diameters.
SifChrome 316L CRYO is a 316L low-grade carbon stainless steel electrode suitable for applications where the mechanical requirements are harsh as the weld produced has a good impact toughness at low temperatures and a high resistance to cracking with a UTS >550N/mm2. The model is available in 2.5mm and 3.2mm diameters.
