Weir Minerals launch Wemco pumps to European market
Extra heavy-duty vortex pumps range launched across Europe following success in French market
WEIR Minerals have launched the Wemco extra-heavy-duty vortex pumps range across Europe, following its success in the French market.
The Wemco range, which is designed to handle large and abrasive solids and corrosive fluids, has been manufactured and sold in France for 60 years. It now complements the market-leading Weir Minerals Warman range of slurry pumps across the rest of Europe.
Wemco pumps use vortex technology, with a recessed impeller that allows pipe-sized solids to pass easily, reducing abrasion and minimizing the risk of clogging, thereby reducing the downtime in blockage-prone applications.
A simple design with minimal components and thick-walled castings allows Wemco pumps to deliver the most rugged performance for the heaviest-duty applications in industries including mining and dredging.
Although the Wemco range has a reputation for reliability built over 60 years, this is the first time the pumps have been made widely available in the European market.

The recessed design of Wemco pumps provides minimum particle degradation due to the open passage and cup-shaped impeller.
European customers will be able to access the entire Wemco A, F-DL, MC, S and WP Torque Flow ranges.
