Weir Minerals get pumped up for Hillhead

Warman WGR slurry pump

Weir Minerals to show a range of cutting-edge pumps and process equipment at UK’s biggest quarrying and recycling show

Weir Minerals have announced their attendance of Hillhead 2012, bringing with them a host of cutting-edge pumps and process equipment, at stand N20.

Four Weir Minerals pumps will be displayed on the stand, as well as a wide range of other processing equipment including screens, valves, hoses and a separating cyclone.

The recently launched Warman WGR will be on display; this is a state-of-the-art slurry pump featuring a series of innovations that make maintenance quick and easy to perform.

This will be joined by the Warman WBH, a new-generation heavy-duty slurry pump that builds on the success of the Warman AH slurry pump. The WBH pump adds a dozen separate enhancements to the classic design to help optimize performance, power usage, wear life and ease of maintenance. The display pump features a clear cover allowing attendees to see the innovative impeller design in situ.

Also on the stand will be two Warman submersible pumps – the SJ, which is one of the most widely used submersible dewatering pump globally, and the SHW, the heaviest-duty Warman submersible pump.

The valves exhibited at the show will be a knife gate valve and a pinch valve, which feature a section of rubber tubing that can be squeezed shut for positive control of slurry flow rates and drip-tight closure of lines.

As well as this, the latest separation technology will also be on display in the form of a double-deck sizing screen and an HK 80 dewatering cyclone.

Tony G. Locke, managing director of Weir Minerals Europe, said: ‘Recent years have seen rapid development in the technology of pumps and other processing equipment used in the quarrying and recycling sectors.

‘As the UK’s biggest quarrying and recycling show – and as a significant date in the calendar for the industry internationally – Hillhead is the ideal place for us to share the advances we have made in recent years and to discuss how they could add value to businesses across the UK and further afield.’
