Volvo announce details of new flagship wheel loader
VOLVO Construction Equipment have revealed some headline details about their new flagship L350F wheel loader, which is due to be launched during the first half of 2007 as a replacement for the outgoing L330E model.
Having undergone the most comprehensive pre-production testing programme ever carried out on a Volvo wheel loader, the company say the 50-tonne-class L350F will offer much greater productivity and fuel efficiency than its predecessor, largely due to the machine’s new low-emission Tier 3/Stage III Volvo D16E LA E3 engine –– which provides a maximum power of 397kW (540hp) at 1,700–1,800 rev/min –– together with more powerful hydraulics and a new Volvo transmission. As a result, Volvo say the new model will offer more power, more torque and more load capacity, leading to faster cycle times and sustained high performance throughout the working day.
The operator environment has also been significantly improved on the L350F. Fitted with a larger Volvo Care Cab, the operator will benefit from a more spacious air-conditioned interior that is insulated from noise, dust and vibrations, the latter being due to the use of viscous cab mounts and an air-suspended seat. The ISO-approved cab is also safer than the previous model, with anti-slip surfaces and handrails among many other safety features.
The L350F will be offered in three application-focused variants for timber handling, block handling and bucket work. Bucket capacities will range from 6.2m3 up to 12.7m3.
