Volvo A40F wins design excellence award – again!

Volvo articulated hauler receives prestigious iF award for its innovative product design

VOLVO Construction Equipment are celebrating after winning another design excellence award – the prestigious iF product design accolade – for their A40F articulated hauler. Last year, the machine picked up one of the world’s most sought-after seals of design quality – the ‘red dot: best of the best’ award.

The A40F beat thousands of products and impressed a panel of design experts to win the internationally recognized quality label. And there might be more success to come. At the iF awards ceremony in February, the jury will honour the very best designs with a gold award.

‘We are extremely proud to win another globally recognized mark of industrial design quality for the A40F articulated hauler,’ said Anders P. Larsson, executive vice-president of Volvo CE’s technology function. ‘This award is a tribute to the hard work of the many dedicated and skilled Volvo employees who helped to create our market-leading and innovative range of F-Series haulers by pushing the boundaries of technology and design.’

The iF product design awards have been honouring outstanding product design for 60 years. Only the very best innovative products (in 16 categories) are judged by the panel – and this year more than 3,000 entries were entered by designers and companies worldwide. The jury thoroughly examined each entry; the evaluation criteria included design quality, degree of innovation, environmental impact and functionality.

The A40F hauler was awarded the prestigious prize in the ‘special vehicles, construction and agriculture’ category.
