Updated EOTC and slinging safety guide
Overhead crane operator safety guide revised and updated to reflect new LEEA-accredited training material
LAST year, Mentor Training’s crane course was the first to receive formal accreditation from the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA). In line with this, the ‘Electric Overhead Travelling Crane (EOTC) and Slinging Safety Guide’ has been revised to reflect the new accredited course material.
The guide provides a useful reference manual for all overhead crane operators and those responsible for the safe slinging of loads. Specifically written to reinforce basic training and provide a simple reminder of the key points covered, the guide comes in the form of a handy A6 pocket-size booklet for quick and easy reference.
Included in the guide are sections on health and safety guidance and legislation, maintenance and pre-use checks, crane operation, slinging and signalling and the lift plan. The safe use of lifting accessories is also covered, with reference to: chain slings; wire rope slings; textile slings; eyebolts; shackles; hooks; turnbuckles; rigging screws; and specialist accessories, such as vacuums, clamps and magnets.
