Ultra-thick protection

Users of machinery in heavy-duty quarrying processes who need to reduce maintenance downtime are starting to reap the benefits of using a new ultra-thick protection product.

Cast wear-protection blocks, designed and manufactured in Australia and marketed in the UK by Ace Arc, comprise hardened steel components that fit together in a variety of configurations to provide an extra-tough alternative to Ace Arc’s range of wear plate.

Ace Arc believe they are particularly suitable in applications where there is limited opportunity for regular maintenance. Frank Fairbrother, managing director, said: ‘Wear-protection blocks are a premium product but in the right application they can save a lot of money as the cost is offset by the wear life.’
