Training for Competence Workshops

BY the end of 2010 all NVQs specific to the extractive industries will be replaced by qualifications developed under the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). The new qualifications will be very similar in content and standard to the existing NVQs, but their modular format will offer much greater flexibility.

In order to provide a better understanding of what this means for the industry, a series of half-day workshops, entitled ‘Training for Competence’, has been organized by MPQC and the Institute of Quarrying at various venues around the country.

The workshops will take place as follows:
  • 13 October, Stirling, Scotland.
  • 2 November, Leeds/Bradford.
  • 18 November, Brentwood.
  • 2 December, Loughborough.
  • 7 December, Bristol.
The workshops are aimed at those responsible for ensuring competence in the workplace, production management, SHE managers, training/HR personnel, as well as training providers, assessors and verifiers. The five speakers at each event are all specialists in their field and have been briefed to present information in a easy to understand and practical manner.

For further information or to reserve places, contact Ruth Swaby at MPQC on tel: (0115) 964 4926; or via the contact form below.
