Tarmac invest in improved screen technology
Finedoor have completed the installation of two asphalt screens at Tarmac’s Scunthorpe Santon site to replace old grease-lubricated screens.
Tarmac currently operate two asphalt plants at the site. A 7m x 2.1m, three-and-a half-deck screen with oil-bath system has been installed in one, while a second 4.6m x 1.2m, four-and-a-half-deck screen has been installed in the other.
The replacement screens have provided Tarmac with a range of benefits as both screens incorporate pumped oil lubrication with computer monitoring and each is fitted with an oil recircula-tion system with oil filtration and air-blast cooling to provide stabilized temperatures. Both screens are self-regulating, requiring little or no maintenance. The second unit is fitted with total rubber encapsulation to provide environmentally friendly operation.
