Lincolnshire-based Abba Plant Hire, one of the largest independent owners of JCB machinery, have become the first purchaser in the UK of the new flagship 46-tonne JS460 tracked excavator. Unveiled to the UK quarrying industry for the first time at Hillhead 2001, the JS460 is the largest machine in JCB Heavy Products’ 16-model tracked excavator range.
Abba Plant Hire’s new machine joins a fleet of almost 115 JCB machines operated by the company, representing almost the entire range of JCB construction products, and is currently working on bulk-excavation projects.
Abba Plant Hire’s manager, Nick Howe, said: ‘Our operators have been particularly impressed with the machine’s speed of operation and the high levels of productivity this allows.’
