Strato mixes it for Hanson

Martin Johnson, a St, Ives-based franchisee for Hanson Premix, has taken delivery of his first Strato cement mixer chassis from his local Seddon Atkinson dealers, Pannell Commercials.

The Strato R6 26-310FDD is fitted with an Imer LT70H mixer unit and an Imer LT1200 detachable conveyor system that offers a horizontal reach of up to 12m.

‘I opted for the Seddon Atkinson as it was available to an approved Hanson specification and satisfied all of my operational requirements,’ said Mr Johnson. ‘It offers a competitive payload and operates well both on and off road, giving good ground clearance when delivering over rough terrain.’

The 26-tonne vehicle will be used for delivering concrete across Cornwall five-and-a-half days a week and is expected to remain in operation with Mr Johnson for at least six years.

The Strato is powered by a 7.8-litre Cursor 8 engine that produces up to 310hp at 2,400 rev/min and up to 1,115 Nm of torque between 1,000 and 1,950 rev/min, driven through a nine-speed ZF synchromesh gearbox. It also benefits from Meritor RT52.153 rear axles with cross- and inter-axle diff locks, Wabco ABS, a three-mode engine decompression brake and a 300-litre aluminium fuel tank.
