Silver RoSPA award for Grundon
Waste-management firm recognized for health and safety performance in this year’s awards scheme
GRUNDON Waste Management Ltd have been awarded a Silver in the internationally renowned Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Health and Safety Awards. The RoSPA Awards scheme – which receives entries from organizations around the world – recognizes achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Held earlier this month, the Oxfordshire-based firm was recognized for its achievements during a ceremony at Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel, where Reg Hodson (pictured), SHEQ manager for Grundon, collected the Silver RoSPA award.
Toni Robinson, head of compliance at Grundon, commented: ‘We have won many awards within the waste management industry, but these are international awards where we were judged by independent health and safety experts.
‘To know that we measure up so well against other companies, some much larger than us and from all sectors, is a massive achievement for everyone at Grundon, especially as this is the first time we have entered.’
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, added: ‘The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar. Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.’
