Sennebogen dragline for Aggregate Industries
AGGREGATE Industries have ordered a new Sennebogen 640R/KB hydraulic dragline — the first ‘new-generation’ Sennebogen dragline of its kind to be sold to a UK quarry operator. The order was secured by the German manufacturer’s sole UK and Eire distributors, E.H. Hassell & Sons.
The machine is scheduled for delivery and commissioning this summer and will be put to work on a wet face at Aggregate Industries’ new sand and gravel pit near Uttoxeter.
Powered by a 166kW Deutz engine, the 640R/KB is fitted with a 19m boom, a 1.5m3 bucket and large 160kN winches. The machine is also equipped with two swing motors and features Sennebogen’s Combi System dragline bucket control for improved operation in dragline mode.
Having spent the last two years establishing Sennebogen lift cranes in the UK, E.H. Hassell regard this latest sale as a major success. ‘The 640R/KB offers a high-speed, low-maintenance, long-reach dragline solution and I believe that this will rekindle dragline interest in the UK,’ said sales director Phil Hodges.
