Self-aligning system for conveyor belts
Flender have introduced a new self-aligning system for conveyor belts based on their FSG (Flender standard gear) unit.
The system is said to provide the following benefits:
- quick and easy mounting; the output shaft is simply bolted to the pulley shaft
- versatile mounting as the unit can be mounted on either side of the belt
- simple set-up for lowest cost
- multiple combinations of drive components with standard parts
- minimal maintenance
- flanged motor adaptor for use with any NEMA or IEC motors.
The cooling system incorporates an increased cooling service with ribbed housing and a high-efficiency shaft-driven fan with optimized airflow design. The cooler operating temperatures increase the life of the gear unit’s lubrication oil.
For dusty environments a high-efficiency fan with special blade design increases airflow across the housing and reduces dust build-up on the housing surface. Flender have also incorporated grease-purged taconite seals that incorporate a grease nipple, allowing users to purge contaminated grease regularly. A non-contacting version is also available.
