RMC sign up to health and safety agreement with HSE

RMC have signed up to an agreement with the Health and Safety Executive which will see the two organizations working closely together to improve still further RMC’s health and safety record.

"Although RMC enjoy one of the best safety records in the industry, as demonstrated by the 20 awards the company collected in this year’s RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards, the agreement will mean that the HSE will concentrate its visits on RMC plants where both parties feel further improvements could be made. The HSE will also continue to make a number of visits to other randomly selected RMC sites."

"Commenting on the move, Richard Claydon, UK health and safety manager at RMC, said: ‘The safety of our employees and the third parties who interact with our business is an absolute top priority for RMC. We have succeeded in reducing incidents at our sites by 17% over the last 12 months, but we recognize that there is always more that can be done."

‘The targeted input by the HSE will be invaluable and by signing this agreement we can maximize our efforts by focusing in a significant way on specific parts of the business to help us improve our safety record still further.’

RMC are one of 25 companies across a variety of industrial sectors to be invited to sign up to the agreement.
