Highways maintenance and management to feature in new six-part television series on Channel 5

DURING the winter months of 2014/15, ITN Productions followed Ringway Jacobs’ operational gangs for a new television series about highways maintenance and management, ‘Stop! Roadworks Ahead’.

The first of six one-hour episodes will be shown tomorrow night (Monday 13 July) at 8pm on Channel 5, with the series featuring the work of Cheshire East Highways, Essex Highways and Transport for Buckinghamshire.

The programmes feature every aspect of the service Ringway Jacobs deliver, from winter maintenance and potholes to planning and design, and follows operational staff as they go about their daily roles of managing and maintaining the roads they are responsible for.

Ringway Jacobs’ managing director, Mike Notman, said: ‘This programme has given us a great opportunity to shine the spotlight on all the excellent work we deliver in Cheshire East, Essex and Buckinghamshire, and to raise the profile of the industry with the public.

‘It has allowed us to build upon our strong reputation for being innovative, forward-thinking and committed to delivery, and to highlight the various issues we face every day, such as the safety of our workforce.’

The first episode features Essex Highways’ project on the Army and Navy roundabout in Chelmsford.
