Red Dot Award for new Liebherr TA 230

New-generation articulated dumptruck receives coveted Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021

THE new 30-tonne class Liebherr TA 230 Litronic articulated dumptruck has won a coveted Red Dot Award for outstanding product design just a few months after the machine was first unveiled to the public. The award is widely considered to be one of the most important international accolades in the field of design.

Configured for maximum efficiency, payload and productivity in continuous operation, including in difficult terrain, design and development of the new TA 230 focused, in particular, on optimization of the view from the driver’s cab, on comfortable and well-thought-out machine operation, and on optimum illumination of the driving and working areas.

Congratulating Liebherr on their success, Red Dot chief executive officer and initiator Prof. Dr Peter Zec said: ‘The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 are especially impressive this year. The design of their products is outstanding – with respect to both aesthetics and functionality.’

From 21 June 2021, the TA 230 will be on show in the online exhibition on the Red Dot website, and from 22 June it will also be shown in digital form in the ‘Design on Stage’ exhibition of the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, where all the award-winning products will be presented. In addition, the new hauler will also appear in the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2021/2022, which is due to be published in August.
