Recycling contractor takes on new Bell machines

Bell L2606E wheel loader

Ovenden Earthmoving strengthen mobile plant fleet with Bell articulated dumptrucks and wheel loader

FORMED in 1973 as an earthworks contractor involved in the construction of the Channel Tunnel, Kent-based Ovenden Earthmoving Company have continued to grow and now specialize in recycling, crushing and sea/coastal defence operations.

With a 100-plus-strong fleet of earthmoving machines, the company has recently bolstered its Bell Equipment segment with the addition of a new L2606E wheel loader and two B40D articulated dumptrucks.

Ovenden Earthmoving’s reputation has been, and continues to be, attributed in large part to the power, quality and reliability of the machines they choose to bring to their highly capable fleet and meeting the specific demands of their customers.

‘Our clients rely on us to supply them with top of the range equipment that consistently has the capacity and stamina to not just meet, but exceed, expectations,’ said Nigel Hemingway, contracts manager at Ovenden.

‘By supplying machines that deliver results, we’ve won repeat business and built upon valuable relationships, whilst playing our part in helping to defend the island’s coastline and aid construction and recycling projects across the country.’

He added: ‘To continue achieving results, we ensure our machinery is the best available, so when expanding our fleet we choose machines that we know have the ability to perform. This is why we’ve returned to Bell Equipment to fulfill this recent need for a new wheel loader and two new ADTs.’

The L2606E wheel loader has been put to work on Ovenden’s crushing and recycling contracts and Mr Hemingway hopes the latest investment in Bell machinery will continue to build customer confidence and encourage repeat business.

‘We’ve always had good results with Bell and feel that we’ve been consistently supported by the company from the point of sale, all the way through to machine aftercare,’ he explained. ‘Our operators get on well with the vehicles, which they find to be powerful, reliable, and fuel efficient, as well as competitively priced. We also benefit from the machines’ on-board data systems, and choose to use Fleetm@tic on our trucks – a programme we find extremely informative.’

‘The L2606E loader is working on a recycling contract in Kent – loading rail ballast into crushers and stockpiling – while the B40Ds are proving their worth hauling beach materials as part of the sea defence projects in East Sussex.’

Richard Higgot, sales and marketing manager for Bell Equipment, added: ‘We’re delighted that Ovenden Earthmoving has again chosen to invest in machinery manufactured by Bell. It is rewarding to see the company’s fleet grow so considerably and have Bell machinery play an integral part of that development.’
